STUART McLaren will kick off his new Stirling Albion manager's job with a message of support from former Rangers hero Craig Moore.

Ex-Binos striker Mclaren's first match will be in charge of tomorrow's (Sat) Scottish Cup replay against Junior Cup holders Hurford United at Forthbank.

The 39-year-old Scot admitted he has been blown away by the backing he's had since taking over the Stirling hotseat from Greig McDonald.

Australia World Cup defender Moore, who played alongside McLaren Down Under, tweeted him to say : "All the best pal - see you in December."

McLaren, who left his post as head coach of Loughborough University FC to return to his old club alongside Stirling number two Martyn Corrigan, said : "The messages I've had are very much appreciated - it has been a little bit overwhelming at times. Craig and I have a long history. We were team-mates as teenagers in Australia. We kept in contact during his time at Rangers and while I was at Stirling Albion. We then became team-mates at Brisbane Roar in the A-League. Craig's a good friend and it's always great to have that sort of support."
