Stirling Albion star Sean Dickson believes his side's victory over Montrose is testament to the team spirit in the Forthbank dressing room.

The Binos were reduced to ten men but battled against the odds to secure a dramatic victory.

And the former Stenhousemuir and East Fife forward, who made the switch to Forthbank in the summer, thinks the result could be the catalyst for Albion to kick-start their season.

Dickson told Stirling News Sport: “We're delighted. It's been a tough few weeks for us and it's good to finally get some points on the board because our performances have deserved it. Although it was a bit of a struggle, it showed that we have great character in the changing room.

“I would like to think it can be the start of a run. The boys have shown how much they are willing to fight and how much we want to finish as high up the table as we can. We have a good squad and I think the confidence will grow and we can go on and climb the table.”

Dickson was delighted for former Stenhousemuir team-mate Ross McMillan after the Binos captain scored the winner for the second week running.

He said: “Ross has been a rock for us. He has always been solid at the back and now he is adding goals to his game as well. It is great that we have a threat from every position because from a forward's point of view we didn't create an awful lot.”

Albion face a trip to struggling Arbroath in their next League Two encounter, and Dickson hopes they can build on their recent form after securing back-to-back wins for the first time in over a year.

He added: “It's so important now to keep the momentum going next week. One of the things the management team have instilled in us is that it is just one victory and we always need to be looking to build on it in the next game.”
