Stirling’s Daniel Scott is saddling up to compete against some of the world’s top riders including Zara Phillips and Sir Mark Todd at the Gillespie Macandrew Hopetoun Horse Trials at the end of the month (June 26-28).

A member of the Scottish Development Squad, Daniel (23) was runner up for the 2012 Top Spec Eventing Scholarship. Scott won his first Young Rider Trials when he was just 17 and two years later in 2012 he won the Hopetoun CIC2* as well as the Young Rider Trials at Lincoln.

He repeated his Lincoln victory in 2013 when he was shortlisted for the UK Young Riders Team. He started competing at senior level in 2014.

In his quest to repeat his Hopetoun victory at the 2015 Hopetoun competition, Daniel who lives at Sauchenford, will have to beat the world’s best.

Onlookers can’t fail to be excited by watching these top riders tackling the challenging cross-country jumps at speed around the Deer Park at Hopetoun.

But the weekend is not all about horses! There is an action-packed programme of arena entertainment and a plenty of canine capers for the family to enjoy.

Event director Stuart Buntine said: “This a great opportunity to enjoy a fantastic family day out in a truly stunning setting. Whether you come for the thrill of this magnificent sport, the fun of the dog agility or even to watch the children’s excitement at Baxterbear’s tea party, it is sure to be a day to remember.” For full details and cut-price advance ticket purchase visit www.hopetounhorsetrials.com
