Bannockburn travelled to Dundee for this fourth round tie and after a shaky start ran out comfortable winners.

Sidlaw pushed forward right from the kick-off and Christie pulled off a good save but they went in front when the striker blasted home from the edge of the box.

They went close again before Fotheringham and Knox both saw their efforts go past the post.

Bannockburn equalised on the half hour mark when Donaldson fired home from just inside the box.

He doubled his side’s lead shortly after when Maitland sent a great through-ball and he finished well.

Just before the break and with Bannockburn’s superior fitness starting to show, Maitland slotted the ball home from close range to make it three.

Right after the restart, Purdie made it four from inside the box then Fotheringham rattled the post.

A great strike from Knox further increased their lead and Burns made it six with a 20 yard effort.

Maitland and Donnelly both then struck the bar but it was Donnelly who notched number seven from the edge of the box.

Burns then completed the scoring near the end to cap a good all-round performance after the slow start.

Bannockburn are at home this Saturday on league business against Colville Park with a 2pm kick-off.
