CRIEFF man Roger Clark recently competed for Scotland in the British and Irish Cross Country International at Tollcross Park Glasgow.

Rodger was joined by two PH racing club team mates Karen Kennedy and Mary Western for the event on November 12.

Competing against the leading age group athletes from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland it was always going to be a fast race with a hugely talented field of athletes taking part.

Roger Clark put in a gutsy performance in the men's race where he placed 25th in the Male 45 age group covering the 8k course in 28.03.

Karen Kennedy produced an outstanding performance placing fifth overall and leading Scottish athlete in the female 45 age group covering the testing 6k course in 22.11.

Karen's run was backed up by ninth placed Fiona Dalgleish (22.21) and Jennifer Forbes, 12th in 22.38 to earn Scotland the bronze medals in the team event.

Mary Western competing in the female 50 age group enjoyed an excellent race finishing 11th in 23.38. Mary was the third counting member of the Scottish team who won the silver medals in their age category.

England was the overall winner of the international event with Ireland finishing second and Scotland came third.
