BANNOCKBURN followed up a 3-3 draw with an opening home win against St Patrick's FP AFC, reversing the 2:0 defeat in the same fixture last season.

New signing Sean Stewart put in an impressive performance, going close in the early stages.

He was followed by Darren Walker narrowly missing with a shot that went by the post on 10 minutes.

With just under half an hour played Bannockburn went one up with a deserved goal following good play from Kenny McLelland. Stewart was on hand to play it over the keeper.

On forty minutes McLelland converted a penalty to make it 2-0 at the interval.

St Pats pulledo one back when their centre forward shot from outside the box and it hit the post before going in.

They had the ball in the net again soon after but it was ruled offside by the whistler.

In the 70th minute Jonathan Cooper came on for the ever-busy Chris Ogilvie.

Within five minutes, perseverance from whippet-like Stewart saw him make it 3-1.

At the game’s end St Pats converted a penalty after Harry Bruce picked up the ball in expectation of a foul.
