THE final competition of the season at Dunblane New Golf Club was was played recently with a Stableford over a course playing well for the time of the year.

Playing on Friday, October 21 Tommy Green (5) won the first class on 39 points with a net eagle at two and net birdies at eight, nine, 12, 13 and 14. Runner up and with possibly his first success of the season was Jim Walker (10) on 38 points with net birdies at one, eight, 10, 13, 16 and 17.

Three players then returned 37 points but third place went to Roddy Anderson (6) with BIH, including a net eagle at 13, than Malcolm Scott (5) with a BL6 than Gary Wilson (10) but both had net eagles at nine.

Having been disqualified last week for omitting his handicap from his scorecard Hamish Donald (12) won the second class this week on 37 points and BIH, including a net eagle at 16, than Gavin Brown (14). Norrie Nairn (16) then took third place on 34 points and BIH than Geoffrey Seaman (16), despite his net eagle at 11, in fourth and ahead by BIH than Christopher MacDonald (15) who played on Friday.

In the third class Connor Donaldson (21) edged the top spot on 35 points and a BIH, including a net eagle at 13. Drummond Gardner (20) fell away after an excellent outward nine of 21 points. Gary Aitken (23) was third on 34 points with James Brown (24) fourth on 33 points and BIH than Tony Harrild (20) and Craig Wilson (19).

Saturday, October 29 will be the basic round for the Winter Ringer for 2016/2017.
