Congratulations to Stirling County Cricket Club and Stirling Netball Club who were awarded funding from ClubSport Stirling this month.

ClubSport Stirling are a voluntary organisation and in partnership with Active Stirling help support the growth and development of all sports clubs throughout the community.

Stirling County Cricket Club were awarded £220 to go towards the purchase of new equipment to help the progression of younger players at their club.

Club representative Jon Taylor said: "We are really pleased with this very generous award from ClubSport Stirling and that we can now move forward with our development plans."

Their cheque was awarded to them by ClubSport Stirling vice chairperson Ian Cuthbertson.

Stirling Netball Club were also awarded funding for £300.

The club will purchase brand new netball posts for their junior section, which will allow them to play more netball games & practice with stands that are safer and more appropriate for learning netball.

Pam Sandy, chairperson of Stirling Netball Club explained: "The junior club currently use posts that have been around for over 60 years, so it's fair to say they have definitely seen better days. Now it's time to get them updated and enthuse lots of young girls to play netball for the first time at our club."
