Harestanes ..... 2

Bannockburn .... 5

Bannockburn AFC ended their league campaign with an impressive 5-2 win away to Harestanes last weekend.

It took just three minutes for the visitors to threaten as a Darren Walker shot needed saving after some quick interplay involving brothers Jazz and Dave Donaldson.

Burn opened the scoring in ten minutes, when a six-pass move with a cross to Michael Weir gave a simple header to Darren Walker.

The lead was extended in 18 minutes when the industrious Ross Evans sent Jazz Donaldson racing through and his shot fizzed past the stranded Harestanes keeper.

Weir soon converted a third for Burn after jinking into the box. Harestanes pulled one back on the half hour mark before yet more chances for Burn fell to Weir, Knox and Walker.

It was 4-1 on 40 minutes when Donaldson notched his second of the afternoon.

Harestanes started the better in the second half and scored from a free kick to make it 4-2 not long after.

A penalty claim was turned away for the visitors when McIntosh was felled by the keeper with the ref fifty yards away, but he was unimpressed with the Burn claims.

A penalty was awarded, however, on 75 minutes. Nick McIntosh was brought down and Jazz Donaldson converted to secure his hat trick and a 5-2 win.

So Burn closed the season on a high while ruing their stutter at the season’s start, but they look forward to the next season with optimism.

The Committee thank major sponsors, Tartan Arms and Morton and Sullivan for all their help during the season.
