Jonesy’s Boxing Club in Plean, Stirling have been awarded £500 from ClubSport Stirling to purchase new equipment for their club.
Iain Cuthbertson from ClubSport Stirling, along with Active Stirling’s Club Development Officer, Hazel Dean went along to the club earlier this month to present them with their cheque.
Hazel Dean said: “This is a relatively new club that have made huge progress in the last year with several young boxers competing at Scottish level, and the enthusiasm at the club is tremendous.
“The money will go towards new gloves, punch pads and head guards in order that the club can take on new recruits and increase numbers.” The club who are based in Plean have already put in a lot of hard work making their hall safe and suitable but also have plans to expand the small hall to provide more space for the club to develop further.
