A YOUNG man exposed himself at a city nightspot, a court has heard.

Hassan Tariq, 25, appeared in the dock for sentencing at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to two offences.

Tariq accepted that he intentionally exposed his genitals in a sexual manner at Nice N Sleazy on Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street with the intention that it would be seen.

The charge, which he pleaded guilty to, states that Tariq lowered his trousers and underwear to expose his penis to a person.

The incident happened at

the night spot in Glasgow on February 12.

He also pleaded guilty to an additional charge of sexually assaulting a woman.

He admitted touching the woman’s breast.

The incident happened on the same day on a footpath in the city.

Tariq’s defence agent said his client had been out with work colleagues who he then lost.

The court heard that he had consumed too much alcohol when the incident happened.

The court also heard that Tariq came to the UK from Pakistan.

He had studied at University College London in 2010 before coming to Scotland to work for a financial firm.

His defence agent said the offence would have ramifications for his future employment.

He also said the incident was “out of character” for his client and he also admitted that Tariq was concerned that he might receive a custodial sentence for his actions.

His defence agent added: “He has the view that this will never happen again.

“It is out of character and in the future he will be very careful when consuming alcohol.”

The court also heard that Tariq did not consider himself at risk of reoffending.

Sheriff Barry Divers said: “You can’t behave like this whether drunk or not. You can’t behave like this on the streets of Glasgow.”

Tariq, of Finnieston Street, received supervision for one year. He will also be subject to notifications under the Sex Offenders’ Register for a year.
