One of the yobs who chanted a vile song mocking the brutal murder of soldier Lee Rigby in Sunderland ahead of the friendly Dafabet Cup clash has today been named and shamed.

Donning a Celtic top and holding a pint of beer, 23-year-old Aidan McAdam from Coatbridge was one of several men to walk down a busy street in the English city at the weekend while chanting: “F**k Lee Rigby, he won’t be f***ing drumming anymore.”

Revealed to be a plumber, The Scottish Sun reports how his employer, Mears Group, has said in a statement: “I can confirm that he has been suspended and we are carrying out an internal investigation.”

Lee, 25, of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, was horrifically slain in May 2013 in front of members of the public by Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale in Woolwich, southeast London.

The pair told people at the scene they killed the soldier as an act of revenge over the killing of Muslims by the British armed forces.

They were sentenced to life behind bars at the end of that year.

When the clip surfaced online, the late soldier’s mother, Lyn, described the supporters in the video as “scum,” also adding how she has not “stopped crying” since the clip surfaced.

Celtic Football Club issued a statement yesterday, and said: “Clearly everyone at Celtic is appalled by these events.

“Such behaviour, in no way, represents Celtic Football Club or our supporters.

“We understand this incident is now subject to an ongoing police enquiry.

“Let us be clear: in the event that any individuals are identified as being responsible, Celtic will take the strongest possible action.”

Northumbria Police also said: “We are aware of the chants that were made.

“We are looking into these to see if any criminal offences took place and will take necessary action.”
