LOGIE Guides and Brownies are marking their 70th anniversary with a celebration party on Friday, December 1.

And they want anyone who has ever been involved in the Girlguiding movement locally to come and celebrate with them.

Fiona McBride and Wendy MacKinnon, the leaders of Logie Brownies, hope current and former brownies and guides will help them mark the occasion at Logie Kirk Hall in Causewayhead.

The hall has been home to Logie Guides and Brownies for the past 70 years and the anniversary celebrations take place there on the evening of December 1 with entertainment provided by the girls in the current units.

Wendy said: “This is an amazing anniversary for us and we’d really like to celebrate in style.

“We’re inviting women who used to be brownies and guides at Logie to join us and enjoy the chance to chat with others about their memories of the hall and the camping trips they went on.

“There will be coffee and cake on offer plus some singing from our current brownies and guides.

“Parents are also invited along as well as former and current leaders and anyone else involved in brownies and guides in the local area.

“Come and join us to reminisce and enjoy being part of Girlguiding again - you never know you might meet an old friend or two.”

Anyone interested should head along to the celebrations at Logie Kirk Hall between 5pm and 6.30pm on Friday, December 1.
