A buggy walking group organised by Active Stirling has given new parents and mums-to-be a healthier lifestyle.

The programme, supported by Spirit of 2012 and Legacy 2014, is designed to help parents improve fitness and provide the opportunity for them to share their own experience with one another.

Initially introduced in Bridge of Allan, Bannockburn, Doune and Dunblane, a further two new walks have kickstarted in Raploch and Cowie in the last year.

The free one hour walks take place on a weekly basis and are led by qualified walk leaders, finishing at a venue where people can stop for a coffee and a chat afterwards.

One mum said: "If it wasn't for buggy & bump walks, I'd not speak to anyone all day, except baby, that is!"

Another said: "I get to know my own area so much better. I had no idea that there were so many nice places to walk in my own village."
