THE Active Stirling Secondary Schools Golf Championship was held at the city's golf club last week.

Wallace High School's Gregor Johnston was crowned champion in the boys' category with a round of 75, while Beaconhurst's Zoe Morton took the girls' title, scoring an impressive 33 points.

Bjorn and Sebastian Sandin took home the team championship with a fine performance to ensure the trophy ended up back at Dunblane High School for the first time.

The brothers' combined total of 157 edged out Wallace High School's Gregor Johnstonand Tom Bradburn by seven strokes.

Garry Bowman, Stirling Golf Club secretary, said: “The event was very well attended and the weather was kind compared to last year.

“We would be delighted to see this become a fixture in our calendar for years to come. A big thank you to all the organisers who helped the event to run so smoothly.”

Active Stirling school sport competition co-ordinator Keith Glendinning added: “We were pleased to once again work in partnership with the secondary schools, Stirling Golf Club and Tim Mitchell of PAR System Golf to make the Championships a success.

“Given the success of the golf events this year, we will be introducing more regular activity in our competitive offering for 2017/18.”
