A DOUNE and Dunblane tradition has been kept alive – and kicking – by a group of 200 football-daft children.
The area's annual five-a-side tournament, which has been running for over 30 years, was held over three nights at Dunblane Primary School's field in early June.
Young participants' enthusiasm could not be dampened by the weather conditions on Saturday, June 3, as children gathered trophies and mementos at the school's fete.
Started in the 1980s by the local community policeman, the tournament is now run by 25th Stirling Boys' Brigade.
Children are encouraged to make up their own team names and represented six schools, which included Dunblane Primary, Dunblane High, Newton, St Mary's, Doune and Queen Victoria Schools.
Organisers of the event have thanked St Andrew's Ambulance volunteers for their help covering first aid duties over the three days.
