DOUNE CASTLE failed to come back from the frustrations of this season, losing another game against St Mungo's AFC.

Despite dominating the opening exchanges, Doune did not manage to convert any of the chances they created.

Their best effort of the first half came after 42 minutes when Dylan McGowan struck a dipping volley from 35 yards.

The ball beat the keeper, but crashed off the face of the crossbar.

Doune had a dreadful start to the second half, gifting their opponents the opener after 48 minutes.

St Mungo's took advantage of a slack pass to bundle the ball into the net.

Andy Innes, James Graham, Sean Heaver and Chris Ogilvie all came close to an equaliser, but the Castle again failed to score.

After 81 minutes, St Mungo's struck on the break to head home a corner, making it 2 – 0.

Just a few minutes before the 90 minutes were up, St Mungo's were reduced to 10 men when the referee awarded Doune a penalty..

However, Sean Heaver who is usually so assured from the spot, missed the opportunity after sending the keeper the wrong way, his effort cracked off the face of the post and rebounded wide.
