EIGHTEEN primary schools in Stirling took part a dance programme last week.

Youngsters participated in Active Stirling's annual Think Dancing at the Macrobert Arts Centre.

Held over two days, on Tuesday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 26, they performed outstanding dance routines, created and choreographed themselves with the help from school teachers, volunteer school members and support from Active Stirling’s dance co-ordinator Zoe Thomson.

Angela Hunter, Active Stirling’s Active Schools co-ordinator who leads the Think Dancing programme, said: "As always the leaders and the children have exceeded expectations, I am enormously proud of all their hard work.

"One of the things that makes me most happy is when the volunteers leave saying see you next year."

This programme involves school/teacher volunteers participating in CPD training.

They then run dance sessions in school with their children and this is followed by specialist support from expert dance team.

The primary schools that took part on Tuesday evening were St Ninians, Balfron, Gargunnock, Strathyre, Fintry, Buchlyvie, Riverside, Killearn and Drymen.

Then the Wednesday evening brought Cornton, Allans, Cambusbarron, Borestone, Newton, Dunblane, Bannockburn, Crianlarich and Killin Primary.
