HOME sellers and buyers are being encouraged to sign up for the UK’s biggest ‘open house’ event taking place on April 1-2.

More than 29,000 viewings took place during the last campaign in September 2016.

It was organised by Countrywide – which sells more homes than any other agents in the UK, including through Slater Hogg & Howison across Scotland, including Stirling.

The idea of the event is to speed up the viewing process and sellers who list their property with Slater Hogg & Howison estate agents for Open House could beat the average 38 days it takes to sell a property in Scotland.

Open House gives sellers the convenience of being able to show their home to many potential buyers over the space of just two days and in some instances generates multiple offers.

Equally, buyers can view numerous properties in one weekend – ideal for people moving to a new area or for first time buyers unsure of what they are looking for.

For the first time, Open House is also open to landlords and tenants looking to rent properties, too.

Sharon Donaldson, Retail Director for Scotland at Countrywide Plc, said: “On average it takes 11 days for sellers to receive a first offer on a property and Open House is a great way to speed up the process by having multiple viewings in a short period of time.

"All of our Slater Hogg & Howison estate agents are on hand to arrange viewings and give our customers the best opportunity to sell and buy their dream home – hopefully in record time."
