Old Doune Road Nursery held a family fun day and raised a whopping £416.54 for PLUS (Forth Valley).

The amazing amount was collected from the bottle and cake stalls on the day. As well as lots of family-friendly activities, special guest Olaf was a huge hit with the children and parents alike.

Following the fun, Karen and Carolann from PLUS dropped in on the nursery to chat to the youngsters about their work, collect the cheque and thank the team for their kind donation.

PLUS is a registered charity that supports children and young people with disabilities to have access to social, leisure and recreational opportunities and activities across Forth Valley. PLUS was established in 1988 by parents who believed that children with disabilities had as much right as anyone else to an ordinary social life.

PLUS support offers parents and carers across the community a short break, which strengthens their family unit. These short breaks both increase the capacity and resilience of families to continue in their caring roles.

Jill from the nursery said: “The children were all really interested to hear about the projects PLUS is involved in and to learn a little bit about children with disabilities and how this affects their lives.

“We hugely appreciate the support and commitment of our families and staff team in helping to organise the fun day and raise this fantastic amount of money for a great cause.” For more information on PLUS, call 01786 450086 or go to www.plus-stirling.org.uk.
