The Stroke Association is encouraging people to join them for a 5K and 10K fun run in Strathclyde Country Park on Sunday 27 September at 10.30am.

Kirsty Scott, community and events fundraising manager at the Stroke Association, said: “In Scotland one in six of us will have a stroke. Around a quarter of strokes in Scotland happen to people of working age or children and over half of people affected by stroke are left with a disability.

“The important thing to remember is that strokes are preventable and if people made simple lifestyle changes, such as keeping blood pressure under control, eating healthy food and exercising more then there could be fewer strokes.

“We’re encouraging people in Glasgow to get fit and take part in our Resolution Run, with friends, family or on their own. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned runner, we welcome participants of any ability and you can choose your own pace and distance. Resolution Runs are for everyone.” The money you raise will fund vital research and will go towards preventing stroke and supporting people affected by stroke in Scotland.

Registration on the day is from 9.30am. Entry online is just £12.50 with a t-shirt or £15 with a running vest. All runners will be provided with water and a medal to celebrate their achievement.
