Gas distribution network company SGN is undertaking work to upgrade the local gas network in the Causewayhead Road area of Stirling.

The second phase of this essential work will start on Sunday 5 July and last for six weeks between Stirling Rugby Club and Buchanan Drive. Work will then continue for eight weeks between Buchanan Drive and the roundabout.

During part of the work at times it may be necessary to use temporary traffic lights for safety. The northbound cycle lane will be suspended for the duration of the works. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. All businesses in the local area will remain open as usual.

Hours of working will be five days a week between 8am and 4.15pm, along with extended hours and weekends as required. Noisy activities will be minimised where possible.

The project forms part of an ongoing gas mains replacement programme developed by SGN with the Health and Safety Executive. SGN is replacing 4.5km of the existing metal gas mains and services with modern polyethylene pipe, which has a minimum lifespan of around 80 years and will ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply for the local community for many years to come.
