To honour and celebrate the UK’s Armed Forces past and present, Army reservists wore their uniforms to work last week (24 June).
Army reservist craftsman Sarah Fleming (25), from Cambusbarron, has just finished her basic training with 153 Field Company REME in Grangemouth.
In her civilian life Sarah runs her own business ‘Top Dog Walks’, the local dog walking service for Stirling and surrounding areas and she averages about 15 walks a day.
She said: “Running my own business allows me the flexibility to serve with the Army Reserve, and all the dog walking I do keeps me fit for Army exercises.
“Reservists play a crucially important role in our Armed Forces and often work alongside regulars on operations both at home and overseas.
“Joining the Reserves gives you the opportunity to develop new skills and enjoy extraordinary new experiences that you wouldn’t get in your day-to-day life. And reservists even get paid.” Find out more at www.armedforcesday.org.uk.
