Stirling’s pet stylist to the stars has bagged yet another award as she settles into her new salon in Springkerse.

Sarah Tulloch, owner of Pet Styling by Sarah, won second place in champion level purebreed scissor at the prestigious Master Groom 2015 with Bichon Frise Buster.

A professional dog groomer for around six years, Sarah bit the bullet and opened her own business in April this year, and hasn’t looked back.

She said: “I spent five years working for a large company before spreading my wings and pursuing my dream of running my own business. I groomed mobile for a year before finally making the jump to open up my salon. It’s truly the best move I ever made.

“I believe there is much more to dog grooming than just scissors and combs. It involves bonding, training, understanding, caring and also requires the patience of a saint.

“To have my own salon where I could maintain the same standards consistently and slowly make the grooming process a happy experience for the dogs has just been amazing.” No challenge is too small or too big it seems, as Sarah happily grooms dogs like Great Danes and Standard Poodles to Teacup Chihuahuas and Miniature Yorkies.

Recently, The Voice UK’s Stevie McCrorie visited Sarah to book his dogs in for a groom, and even some football players have visited to book their prized pets in.

Sarah is no stranger to success, and has been grooming competitively for two years. She said: “Progression is also really important to me and I am always looking to better myself, not only with my qualifications but with my understanding of the industry.

“There are several national and international grooming competitions in the UK and I aim to attend four or five a year. They are massive events and are taken very seriously.

“I have been lucky enough to win a few awards over the years which I am rather proud of.” Pet Styling by Sarah is based in a room within Safe Paws Doggy Day Care in Springkerse. Sarah explains: “The attraction was that it was such a happy place for the dogs to be.

“In the mornings I watch the dogs practically drag their owners in to the centre to spend the day with their doggy pals and they are also always sad to leave.

“Being groomed is something which most dogs dislike - maybe it’s the bath, maybe it’s the hair dryer, who knows; but grooming salons can often be a stressful place for our doggies.

“My salon has such a happy atmosphere and a calm ambiance.” To book your canine friends into Sarah, find her on Facebook at Pet Styling by Sarah, visit her website www.petstylingbysarah.com or call 01786 44 83 93.
