Forth Valley youngsters could be performing as part of a national tour this summer showcasing Scotland’s most talented young dancers.

YDance, Scotland’s national dance organisation for children and young people, is coming to Stirling to deliver a week-long dance course for 12 to 18-year-olds with an interest in dance and performance.

YDance will deliver the Project Y Foundation Course between 13-17 July at Macrobert Arts Centre and all participants will have the chance to work with a choreographer to create and develop a new dance piece to be performed at the centre on the final evening of the national 2015 Project Y tour.

Anna Kenrick, YDance artistic director, said: “We’re thrilled to be returning to Stirling this year to deliver the Project Y Foundation Course. It’s a great opportunity for young dancers in this area to get that experience of working toward a performance in a short space of time. It’s a great course to complete for young people looking to develop as a dancer in the future.” The 2015 Project Y tour will visit Tramway (Glasgow), Beacon Arts Centre (Greenock), The Lemon Tree (Aberdeen) and Macrobert Arts Centre (Stirling) and the Aberdeen leg of the tour is part of the Aberdeen International Youth Festival.

YDance is accepting applications for the Stirling Project Y Foundation Course until Friday 26 June. Email Gaynor@ydance.org or call the YDance office on 0141 552 7712 for more information.
