Police in Forth Valley seized drugs worth over £5000 and arrested three people successfully concluding a large drugs operation.

Led by the Forth Valley Criminal Investigation Department ; with support from community policing teams around Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire; the operation was carried out from Tuesday to Thursday (9-11 December) as a response to intelligence indicating that class A-C controlled substances were being supplied from various addresses around the area.

Detective Chief Inspector James Smith said: "Police Scotland are committed to tackling persons involved in the supply of controlled drugs within our communities.

“In an effort to reduce the harm the abuse of these illicit materials cause, we will continue to work closely with the local community and our partner agencies in order to tackle the issue of drug supply at all levels.” A number of people have been reported to the Prosecutor Fiscal for the possession of controlled substances. Three have been arrested for being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and the sum of £1700 in cash was also seized under Proceeds of Crime legislation.

The drugs that were recovered ranged from class A-C with an estimated street value of £5500.
