An 80-year-old man has died after his electric wheelchair collided with a bin lorry near Sheriffmuir.
The pensioner was injured in the incident at about 10am yesterday morning at Cauldhame.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene on Sheriffmuir Road, but the man later died.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland was called to attend a road traffic collision on Sheriffmuir Road on Wednesday, December 3, at around 10am, which involved a refuse truck and an 80-year-old man in an electric wheelchair.
“The Scottish Ambulance Service attended, but the man later passed away.
“Inquiries to establish the full circumstances are still ongoing and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact Police Scotland immediately on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
