Hamish the Highland bull has sadly passed away.

Hamish, full name Hamish McKay Denovan, was thought to be the oldest Highland bull in Scotland and had resided at The Trossachs Woollen Mill at Kilmahog near Callandar for over 20 years.

He had been one of the star attractions of the Trossachs with his own Facebook page and regular fan mail from across the world.

His work as a model for photographs taken by visitors from home and abroad will now be carried on by the Trossachs Woollen Mill’s other Highland cattle, Honey and Hamish Dubh, a black Highland bull.

Claire Muir, general manager of The Trossachs Woollen Mill, said: “We’re extremely sad that Hamish is no longer with us. His gentle temperament and love for the camera made him extremely popular with locals and tourists alike.

“Honey and Hamish Dubh have spent the past couple of years learning their picture posing from the great master and it is our hope that our valued customers and visitors will continue to show their affection for our two beautiful Highland cattle and ensure they are loved in the way Hamish was for over 20 years.”
