Save Gillies Hill campaigners got stuck in about the woodland during an autumn clean-up.
The group’s Peter Paterson told the News: “We do this two to three times per year and it’s astonishing how much rubbish gets taken to Gillies Hill. In recent months we’ve removed TVs, couches and beds, and as you can see here yet again, tyres.
“The ironic thing is that those who dump them there probably travel further than they would if they were to take them legitimately - and legally - to the Polmaise Refuse Centre run by Stirling Council.” The group wished to thank all those who gave up their Saturday morning to help with the clear-up, Jim Fisher and his team, and Stirling Council for supplying bags, bibs and retrieving the rubbish.
