Two Stirling brothers who served together in World War 1 were honoured at a special ceremony.
On Tuesday (21 October) Lieutenant Maurice Mowbray MC, who served with the Royal Engineers, and Captain Norman Mowbray from the Argyll and Sitherland Highlanders were honoured by military personnel serving with the 39 Engineer Regiment who are based in Kinloss.
A wooden replica World War One cross was rededicated to the brothers. A similar cross was laid on the war grave of Lieutenant Mowbray in Ypres by the men who served with him between 1915 and 1917 in France and Belgium.
Lieutenant Colonel Tom Marsden, Commanding Officer of 39 Engineer Regiment, said: “This is a fitting tribute to the bravery, service, and sacrifice of our forebears which is especially poignant in this the centenary year of the outbreak of the Great War.”
