Police are appealing for witnesses after a man tried to lure a 12-year-old boy into his car in Stirlingshire.

The boy was walking along Keir Street in Bridge of Allan at around 5.45pm on Monday (13 October) when he was approached by a man in an old-looking silver vehicle.

After the boy declined a lift, the man became angry and demanded he get into the car but the boy managed to run off.

The suspect had an unkempt long beard, and was wearing a grey AC/DC t-shirt with the motif in red and white.

Police officers have since been trying to trace the suspect and have now appealed for anyone who may have information to come forward.

The man was in his late 20s or early 30s, of muscular build, and had sandy brown collar-length hair. He was wearing silver-rimmed aviator shades.

Detective Constable Gavin Dingwall said: “Although the boy was not threatened or assaulted during this incident, it did leave him shaken and upset.

“Anyone who was on Keir Street last Monday evening and remembers seeing anything suspicious is asked to contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone who recognises the description of the suspect or who has information that can assist with our ongoing investigation should also get in touch.” If you have information or witnessed the incident, call Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
