A STIRLING man was found dead in his flat this week.

Darren Kerr’s body was found in a flat in St Valery Drive at around lunchtime on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old was originally from Paisley but moved with his mum Sheila and brother Kieran to Stirling, where he went to Wallace High School.

Today (Friday) police said they have detained a man in connection with the death.

It came as friends and family paid tribute to Mr Kerr on social networking sites.

Karli Scambler wrote: "Still can't believe it Darren, don't feel true you will never be forgotten. One of a kind Darren, kindest guy I no and would do anything for anyone.” And Carrie McCulloch wrote: "Was along putting flowers down from all of us... Still cani believe your gawn but today made it all real!!! Didn't want to believe it like everyone you were one in a million Darren!! Sleep tight big chap! Will always remember the memories when we stayed in st.ninians!! Love the McCullochs.” Residents in the area are concerned about the level of antisocial behaviour in the area, with many taking to Facebooka and Twitter to voice their concerns.

Katelynn Watt wrote: "Crazy sick world we live in. Scared to leave the house now.” Police confirmed they detained a 27-year-old man in connection with the death.

A spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 27-year-old man has been detained in connection with the death of a 25-year-old man at a house in the Torbrex area of Stirling on Wednesday, May 14.

“Enquiries into the incident are continuing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

“Formal identification of the dead man will be confirmed once a post mortem has been carried out.”
