A man and woman have been banged up after being found guilty at Stirling High Court in the supply of controlled drugs.
Police officers from the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit (OCCTU) stopped William Forbes and Jenny Whyte as the pair travelled in a car on Benvie Road, Dundee, on 24 October 2013.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 500g of heroin concealed within.
Both appeared at Stirling High Court on Tuesday (21 April) where Forbes was given a four-and-a-half year sentence while Whyte received three years.
Detective Constable Rachel Drummond said: “Police Scotland welcome the sentences handed down to William Forbes and Jenny Whyte. Their arrest and subsequent conviction is a testament to the hard work of the officers involved in this operation.
“We will continue to target serious and organised crime wherever it exists in Scotland and ensure those responsible are caught and brought to justice.”
