DEDICATED community volunteers have joined forces to celebrate a unique but hidden jewel of Stirling's cultural heritage - Bannockburn House.

Bannockburn House Trust has been formed, with the aim of purchasing the House for the community to develop it into a versatile and sustainable community asset.

The wider Stirling community are now invited to a special preview of a new documentary film telling the story of the project so far and providing more information on the future plans for the House.

The event will take place at Bannockburn High School on Saturday, March 11, from 3-6pm.

William Samson, filmmaker said: "I have enjoyed my time at Bannockburn House, filming the volunteers, and seeing the community come together in their mission to save such a historical treasure has been fantastic."

This special preview event will showcase the film to the community, share the outcomes of previous consultation, then engage in a range of activities to reveal the public’s views towards the significance of Bannockburn House and how it could be developed.

The event will also facilitate a short question and answer session with members of the trust.

This heritage belongs to the local community. The trust wants to place the voices, opinions and aspirations of the community right at the forefront of the development process, and this session aims to do just that.

During the session, people will be invited to become members of the Trust and to get involved in a range of forthcoming projects and activities.

The trust has also launched an online community questionnaire. This will be used to gather thoughts and opinions to support a Stage 2 Scottish Land Fund Application, and the trust are looking for community backing from as many people as possible by taking part.
