Bannockburn Primary pupils were crowned winners of a school basketball competition.

As part of the Active Schools 2015 primary events programme, over 30 teams from Bannockburn, Wallace and McLaren clusters battled it out in the 3v3 matches, held at The PEAK in Stirling Sports Village last week.

The Bannockburn youngsters bounced into the final, beating Cornton Primary for the trophy and promising to come back and defend their title next year in what will now be an annual fixture on the calendar.

Event organiser Marco Giudice said: “It was a fantastic day for the kids - they all worked together showing off their skills and expressing themselves on court.

“The idea behind the event is to let the younger age groups get the chance to learn a new sport, develop new skills and how to play basketball in 3v3 format.

“Great effort from all the children - I would like to thank all the schools who took part and to everyone who helped out on the day.” If you are interested in playing basketball, please contact Active Stirling on 0300 028 0101 or email askus@activestirling.org.uk.
