The brand new Visit Bridge of Allan Association, working alongside the Community Council and Bridge of Allan Events, are bringing Christmas back to the spa town this year.

For the very first time, Henderson Street in Bridge of Allan will shine bright with specially designed festive street lighting.

Local businesses, residents and major sponsors alike are all coming together to make donations to the Light up BofA fund, ensuring that this Christmas is one to remember.

Local primary school children are also an integral part of the event as they take part in a competition to design their own lights. One winner from each school will be chosen and their winning design will be made into a light and hung pride of place on Henderson Street for all to see.

Fiona Gardner, chair of Visit Bridge of Allan, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for everyone in Bridge of Allan to become involved with the community and we already know that a lot of people are very excited by it. We’ve been lucky to receive the help of some very generous people already and their help goes a very long way to ensure that this will be a huge success.

“As a new volunteer group we’re excited to be able to bring something like this back to our village and we’re excited by the encouragement of the people who are helping us make this dream come true.” You too can be part of lighting up Bridge of Allan and the overall community Christmas event by donating what you can to the fund. All donations are welcome and accepted on Henderson Street’s Country Pursuits, Strathallan Pharmacy or &Collective. You can also donate online at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/light-up-bridge-of-allan.

The big ‘Light up BofA’ switch on is scheduled for Saturday 21 November with the culmination of the plans, BofA’s Christmas Day on Sunday 13 December, when you’ll see Santa and his Reindeer, choirs and much more to be announced.
