The Boys’ Brigade in Dunblane (25th Stirling) is celebrating its 115th year in 2015 and is calling on all its ‘old boys’ - former members and officers - to come along to a reunion dinner. While the BB itself was founded in 1883, the 1st Dunblane Company - as it was originally - wasn’t founded until September 1900, making this the 115th anniversary. Although it, like many other organisations, had a hiatus during the two World Wars, the company sprung up again soon afterwards and has been going from strength to strength ever since.

The dinner will take place on Saturday 3 October at 7.30pm in the Victoria Halls, Dunblane, and all former members from every era - and their partners or spouses - are warmly invited. Former captains and other officers have been invited to share some funny stories and anecdotes from the past. At the beginning of the evening, there will also be entertainment from the current BB members.

The BB is also seeking photographs from yesteryear - whether that’s five or 55 years ago - of BB activities such as closing displays, camps, presentations, parades, etc. the Brigade would be delighted to receive copies of these - paper or digital - via the event organiser, Fraser Boyd (32 Buchan Drive, Dunblane).

Tickets for the event cost £25 which includes dinner. A cash bar will operate on the night. Any profits on the evening will go to help the company, which is now one of the biggest in the UK, with around 180 boys taking part in the three sections each week.

To reserve tickets, please send a cheque payable to 25th Stirling Boys’ Brigade to Fraser Boyd, 32 Buchan Drive, Dunblane FK15 9JR or purchase online at dunblanebb115.eventbrite.com. You can also call 01786 821387.
