A Dunblane couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last week (18 June).
Cathie and Billy Mitchell first met at Cromlix estate, where Billy started his working life, and married at Dunblane Cathedral.
Billy worked at a number of farms, including Glassingall under the late Colonel Redman.
Cathie was born and brought up in Dunblane as one of seven in a family and worked part-time for over 30 years as a housemaid and close friend to the Sutton family of the ‘Wells’ on Auchinlay Road.
During their 60 years together they have had three sons, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Son Ronnie said: “On behalf of my two brothers - William and David - and myself, we are extremely proud of them, their devotion to their marriage and the love and friendships it has brought to many, many people.” The couple celebrated their anniversary at the Westland Hotel on Saturday (20 June).
