Dunblane Centre talent are putting on a new show in order to raise money for two charities with performances throughout the second half of next week.
Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens, a show promised to leave the audience both laughing and crying, celebrates the lives of those affected by AIDS. All proceeds from the shows will go to the aid of the Mercury Phoenix Trust and the Dunblane Youth and Sports Centre Trust.
The theatre experience consists of a series of funny, touching and powerful monologues from various unique characters, who are all tragically affected by the disease. Gemma Greer, manager of the centre, said: “The Dunblane Centre has now produced several hugely popular and successful shows starring our highly talented and passionate adult ensemble cast, who come together from various drama companies in central Scotland.
“This show is pushing them to a new level with each cast member taking on several characters with some heart-wrenching stories. It’s powerful, compelling and a rare theatre experience to have performed in this area so do come and see for yourself.” Performances are on every evening from Wednesday (5 November) to Saturday (8 November) with doors open from 7pm and showtime at 7.30pm. Tickets are now on sale, £10 for Wednesday/Thursday and £12 for Friday/Saturday. They are available at the centre or online at www.theatreindunblane.co.uk.
The Mercury Phoenix Trust is a worldwide charity combating HIV/AIDS through a range of educational and awareness projects, particularly targeted at young children in the developing world.
