DUNBLANE Allotment Group recently received a helping hand from the Criminal Justice Team.

Members of the team made life much safer and easier at the allotment by relaying paths, which had become overgrown and slippery.

The team, led by Scott Sneddon and Keith Drummond, came in over two weekends and removed the muddy paths, which, after several near misses, recently claimed a victim when a pensioner broke a hand after slipping.

The team replaced the wooden edging to contain the paths and put down weed suppressant before relaying the paths.

They also refurbished a set of steps, which had become dangerous.

Going over and above, the team used the old hardcore from the paths to make a bund to contain a safe bonfire area.

The allotment group wanted to say a huge thank you to all of those involved, adding that they have made a real difference, which was much appreciated.
