A GROUP of 70 teachers from Iceland have been visiting in the Wee County over the past month to discuss ways to help young people.

The visitors worked alongside Clackmannanshire Council who shared approaches they use to support young people and their families.

The Icelandic teachers were given a warm Scottish welcome by a piper before meeting with the Community Learning and Development Staff.

They were also joined by partners and young people, with the meeting being held at the Bowmar Centre in Alloa.

Afterwards, the visitors paid visits to Park Early Learning Centre, Park Primary and Alloa Academy.

The council took the teachers through a number of approaches to better support young people – including the council’s Family Wellbeing Partnership, strategies to improve writing and the council’s inclusive values.
