STIRLING University will launch its first ever fitness festival this weekend, with all classes on offer free of charge.

The festival will include a range of activities, such as a mass Zumbathon, functional fitness, spin classes and many others.

Catherine Kerr, Senior Fitness Officer at the University, said: “We’re trying to get as many people engaged in health and fitness as possible, to build understanding and awareness of the physical and mental benefits of being active.

“Physical activity comes in many different forms, and the Fitness Festival is a great opportunity to try new things.

"I’d encourage anyone who’s been thinking about their own health and fitness to come along and get involved.”

Entry and all classes are free, but attendees must confirm they are coming and book a place in advance.

The festival will run from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26.
