THE site of the Stirling Gin Distillery was recently visited by local MSP Bruce Crawford.
The Holyrood representative met owners Cameron and June McCann at the construction site, located at the old school building on Upper Bridge Street.
It recently had a new roof installed and is being renovated to become a working distillery and visitors; centre.
The owners hope to be producing the spirit by Christmas time this year.
It is understood the premises will be the first ever legal distiller built on castle rock.
MSP Crawford said: “I was delighted to see the bones of the building – and what is to become a rather special visitors’ centre and distillery.
“Scottish gin has really taken off across the globe in recent years, and it is fantastic that Stirling City will now have its very own distillery for gin.
“I am pleased that efforts are being made to retain the beauty of this historical building and I very much look forward to being invited back to see the finished product.”
