THE Annual Family Foursomes Tournament was hosted by Stirling Golf Club at the weekend.

Iain and Ross MacFarlane returned a net 68 to beat Stuart and Colin Griffin on the better inward half, taking the Griffin Trophy (pictured).

Elsewhere the local club defeated St Andrews by 10 matches to 3 on Sunday over the New and Jubilee courses to retain the Jubilee Trophy.

Club champion Stewart McLellan partnered with Lee Wilson in the lead match against Paul Tulleth and Ally Hain.

Despite Paul and Ally combining for a better ball of six under par scratch, both layers off plus 2, Stewart and Lee won the match for the opening point.

Meanwhile, former Curtis Cup player and honorary member Alison Davidson recently represented the Scottish Veterans team at the annual Veterans Jamboree at Hexham Golf Club in Northumberland.

Scotland took on three divisions from England, losing the first two days against the North and South with several matches going to the 18th.

The team clinched victory over Midlands on the final way with Alison winning both of her matches and pulling off the winning putt.

She will now go on to represent Scotland in the Senior European Team Championships in Belgium next month and also in the Home Internationals in October.

Club members wished Alison well in the forthcoming events.

Looking closer ahead, the Inter Club League Finals will take place at Bonnybridge Golf Club next weekend, Sunday September 2 - semi finals will tee off at 8am.
