MUMS on the Run, a jogscotland group, is one of the new classes on The Peak fitness times.

Designed to be attended by both mother and baby, it is aimed at new mums looking to get back into exercise and is a great way to meet others.

Andy Ferguson, Active Stirling’s health and fitness manager, said: “It’s great to be able to add this jogscotland group class to our offering.

"Jenny Williams (jogscotland jog leader) is a great group leader for our Mums on the Run classes and has vast experience and knowledge which can only benefit our members.

"With over 200 weekly classes on the timetable, we are able to provide a huge range of classes for all abilities so there’s something for everyone.”

The Mums on the Run class is suitable for all levels of fitness, however new mums have to wait a minimum of six weeks after they’ve given birth to go along.

All exercises are specifically designed to be post-natal safe and will gradually build strength and stamina.

Classes will consist of cardio as well as focussing on legs, bums and tums.

They start from The Peak and most will take place outside, although this is weather dependant, and The Peak has facilities which can be used in the event of weather disruptions.

Class attendee Morag, from Stirling, said: "I'm really enjoying the Mums on the Run class.

“I look forward to that hour a week where I get some proper exercise but also some adult chat! Jenny is really skilled at tailoring the exercises to everyone in the group and each week I feel like I'm progressing.

“She has a laid-back attitude but makes you work which is exactly what I need with only an hour to spare.

“The classes have a really nice atmosphere and are completely non-judgemental; if the wee ones cry, need fed or their nappy changed, nobody minds.

“We all understand life with a small person. My wee one loves the chat and fresh air.

“After the class, she gets to interact with other babies, so we are all happy and I'm guilt free. It ticks all the boxes."

Mums on the Run takes place every Tuesday 1.30pm - 2.30pm leaving from The Peak.

Classes are free for Peak members and there are also options available for pay as you go customers.
