RESURFACING works are set to begin on the A84 between Runacraig and Strathyre next week.

The upgrade will create a smoother road surface, increasing safety - according to maintenance company BEAR Scotland.

Works will begin on Monday, July 30, and will last two weeks between 7am and 7pm each day with a break over the weekend.

The road will remain open, but temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system will be in place with restrictions removed outwith working hours, although a 30mph restriction will remain in place due to traffic running on a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland representative for the north-west, said: “This latest investment to the A84 will improve the quality and safety for road users.

“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption to road users avoiding working on Saturday or Sunday.

“We would encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date information and leave some extra time for their journey.”
