RESIDENTS in Menstrie and further afield have taken to social media over an unpleasant smell around the town.
Many shared their complaints about the stench, which is understood to have originated from a food manufacturer.
Others in Tullibody and Tillicoultry also took issue with the odour.
In an online post, Clackmannanshire Council confirmed the Environmental Health Team is aware of the issue and is continuing discussions with the company “to ensure that the problem is identified and a solution is implemented as quickly as possible”.
One commenter, Andy Gorski, said: “It was bad in Sauchie on Friday night. Smelt like dead frogs.”
Dawn Dickson added: “Tullibody too, I have never knew anything to be that bad, it was horrendous.”
Some thought the smell could come from crop being sprayed with waste and lime, however, the council confirmed the smell did not relate to farming activity.
