A SUMMER showcase from 150 song and dance pupils captivated Wee County crowds at Alloa Town Hall this month.

Forefront Stage School put on The Greatest Show over three occasions with youngsters between the ages of two and 18 taking the audience on a musical carnival ride.

Directed and choreographed by school principal Amber Rennie and co-choreographer Sarah Kerr, the theme was loosely based on last year’s Holywood musical film The Greatest Showman.

Those heading along were entertained by no less than 32 solo and group performances over around two hours with song and dance in the disciplines of ballet, tap, modern, jazz and acro with songs from the musical as well as the wider world of pop and musical theatre.

Senior musical theatre pupil Taylor Williams was one performer to stand out from the crowd with his vocal and acting performances in his solo numbers From Now On and Who I’d Be.

Meanwhile, senior lead girl Hannah Ross was equally powerful in This Is Me and Come Alive.

Many in the audience were moved to tears when four junior pupils sang A Million Dreams while Lean On Me was another crowd-pleaser.

Organisers say it was the biggest and best show yet and Forefront will be back with its annual panto, this time around Dick McWhittington, in January 2019.

Auditions will be held in August.
