MARIE Curie is hosting an information evening on Monday 25 June to encourage new members to its Stirling Fundraising Group. The event is being held at the Stirling Highland Hotel on Monday 25 June between 7pm to 9pm where free refreshments and cake will be served.

Marie Curie Fundraising Groups promote the charity within the local community and organise fundraising events and collections to raise vital funds which support terminally ill people and their families. The group are active in encouraging new volunteers, as well as supporting Marie Curie’s major fundraising campaigns such as the Great Daffodil Appeal every March and its current campaign, Blooming Great Tea Party.

Jim Stewart, Community Fundraiser at Marie Curie, said: “The Marie Curie Stirling Fundraising Group members make an enormous difference by helping to raise vital funds. This support means local Marie Curie Nurses can provide expert care, support and the best possible quality of life for people living with any terminal illness in the Stirling area. This includes people with conditions as varied as terminal cancer, dementia, heart disease and motor neurone disease.”

The information event on 25 June is free to attend, for further information contact Jim Stewart on 07798 638156 or stirlingfundraising.mariecurie@gmail.com

Marie Curie is best known for its network of Marie Curie Nurses, who provide one-to-one nursing care and support to people with a terminal illness and their families, in the comfort of their own home. But, the charity does much more.

Marie Curie also provides a confidential support line, funds vital research on how to improve care for people at the end of their life, and campaigns around improving access to care services for everyone living with a terminal illness.
