FIGHT fans were treated to an evening of thrills and spills as Ignite 2 brought down the house at Alloa Town Hall.

The event, held on Saturday, May 12, featured a number of up and coming fighters from the worlds of MMA, boxing and K1, which is a kickboxing platform.

Among the brutal encounters were a number of fighters from the MXP Fitness gym in Stirling where a number of Wee County fighters have honed their skills.

From Clackmannanshire was the Sauchie-based boxing star Lewis Watson who defeated Stewart Campbell via technical knockout at the end of round two.

Some of the Stirling-based fighters who recorded victories were Paul Storrie, Scott Drummond and Jamie Buonaccorsi.

The event, which cost £30 to witness, was organised by MXP just as it was last year and is a huge success for the gym, the town hall and community, who packed out the arena to watch the tussles take place.

There was also a raffle at the show with money being raised for a Wee County man’s African charity.

As the Advertiser as has reported previously, Gary Drummond, who is a first responder, has started up his own charity called Drummond Charity Works Africa.

The raffle managed to raise £233 for the charity.

Gary said: “A big thank you to everyone involved. The money will go a long way as we have numerous projects on the go at the moment.”
